You will be met at
the airport and transferred to your hotel. They came from far and
wide to strike it rich when gold was discovered here in 1886, and
the “City of Gold” still pulsates with entrepreneurial energy.

Days 4 Soweto half day cultural tour
Soweto – an acronym
for South Western Township is home to over 2 million people who,
despite living in crowded and chaotic conditions, have a tangible
sense of community, which the ordered walled northern suburbs lack.
Visit the Hector Peterson Museum, where you learn about the cause of
the riots. Pass the Mandela House, with the option to visit the
small museum (for your own account), and visit the Regina Mondi
Church, site of many underground meetings of the then banned
political parties.
Apartheid Museum half day tour
Embark on a discovery
of the racial segregation experienced by millions of South Africans
a mere decade ago. On entering the building you are racially
classified and you see this segregation in all forms of life.
Excellent displays on the Soweto up-rising, ANC in exile, petty
apartheid, solitary confinement, anti-apartheid movements abroad,
sport boycotts, etc. culminating in the birth a new democratic
country, the inauguration of Nelson Mandela as President and
witnessing one of the most progressive constitutions in the world.
Day 5 Lesedi half day cultural village tour
Have your morning at
leisure and then enjoy a unique evening experience combining a
selection of five different African cultures through an interaction
program. Arrive at Lesedi Cultural Village and enjoy a welcome drink
hosted by one of the tribes. Learn more about the diversity of each
culture whilst being taken on a walking tour through the traditional
villages of Zulu, Ndebele, Sotho, Pedi and Xhosa tribes.
The rhythms of Africa unfold as the Lesedi dancers demonstrate
traditional African dances. Nyama Choma - the greatest African feast
awaits you. Sample traditional African dishes from across the
continent before returning to your hotel.
Day 6 Fly Johannesburg to Cape Town
Transfer to the
airport for your onward flight. On arrival you will be met and
transferred to your hotel.

Day 7 Walk to Freedom full day tour
Visit the vibrant Bo-Kaap
(Malay Quarter), the District Six Museum, Langa and Guguletu. Sample
township life with a visit to an informal spaza (shop) and shebeen
(pub). Cruise to Robben Island and walk in the footsteps of Nelson
Mandela.
Day 8 Cape Town half day city tour
The ultimate 'Mother
City' experience, designed to orientate you and give you an insight
into the magic of Cape Town. Enjoy a trip up Table Mountain -
weather permitting and own account. Then descend and head to The
Castle - South Africa's oldest building.
Visits will be made to The Company Gardens, A scenic tour past the
Parliament Buildings, City Hall and Slave lodge. We then visit The
historic Malay Quarter and the colourful Bo-Kaap. Finish the tour
with a Diamond cutting tour.
Days 9 At leisure, Cape Town
Spend your time at
leisure – optional day tours are available on request.
Cape Town is indescribably beautiful and is steeped in fascinating
history. Enjoy a full day tour to the Cape Point Nature reserve or
meander through the South African Winelands.
Day 10 Fly Cape Town to USA (Via
Johannesburg & Europe)
Transfer to the
airport for your flight to Johannesburg then back to the USA.
Day 11 Arrive USA
