Day 4 Egyptian Museum, Citadel and Mosques full day tour

The Egyptian museum is the most important depository of Egyptian antiquities anywhere in the world. It features artifacts including the mummies of ancient Egypt’s king and Tutankhamun treasures. Situated on a spur of the Muqattam Hills, the citadel dominates Cairo’s skyline and was the nerve center of the city and Egypt for almost 700 years. Within the citadel is the Alabaster Mosque built by Mohammed Ali of Sultan Hassan and the Mosque of Al-Refai, which are among the most majestic monuments of Arab architecture in Egypt. Visit Khan El Khalili, a famous Cairo bazaar dating back to the late 14th century.

Days 5-6 At leisure, Cairo

Neatly split down the middle by the Nile, Cairo contains dozens of neighborhoods each with its own distinct attractions and character. Cairo's biggest treats are the Pyramids and Sphinx on the south-western edge of the city. Marvel at the massive collection of antiquities at the Egyptian Museum and explore the winding alleys dotted with old-fashioned coffee shops.
